Day 1: Arrival in Lima
Contact our agent and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Lima.
Day 2: The UNESCO sites of Lima and Arequipa
After breakfast, we set off to discover the centre of Lima (UNESCO Heritage) with a view of the main square, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Government Palace and a visit to the Monastery of San Francesco. You will then visit the Miraflores district and the Parque del Amor. At the end of the visit, transfer to the airport and flight to Arequipa. Arrival in Arequipa and hotel accommodation.
Day 3: Colonial city and UNESCO site of Arequipa
Breakfast. Today visit to the Historic Center of the White City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It starts with the Plaza de Armas, the Claustro of the Jesuit Compañia, Casa de Moral and the San Camilo Market.
Day 4: National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca and Valle del Colca
After breakfast, the ascent to the second deepest canyon in the world will begin the Colca Canyon. Along the way you cross the Salinas National Reserve and Aguada Blanca where you can spot South American camelids such as the vicuña, the alpaca, and the llamas grazing. Stop at the Mirador de Los Volcanes from which you can admire volcanoes like the Coropuna, Ampato, Chachani to name a few. Stop in Chivay. Free afternoon and overnight in the Chivay lodge.
Day 5: Visit the Colca Canyon
After breakfast, departure for Maca and Yanque. Arrived at the Cruz del Condor you will spot the Andean condor that flies over the impressive Colca Canyon. Return to Chivay and lunch included. Stop for lunch and crossing of the Andes towards Puno. Arrival and accommodation in Puno.
Day 6: The Uros Islands and Taquile Intangible Heritage of UNESCO
Breakfast and departure for the Uros floating islands. After a stop and a contact with the indigenous population, continue to the island of Taquile. The importance of Taquile lies in the ancestral traditions of textiles that led UNESCO to declare it in 2005 as Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Typical lunch included and walk downhill towards the boat that will continue until Puno. Overnight in Puno.
Day 7: Welcome to Bolivia
Breakfast and departure by bus to La Paz in Bolivia. It is the highest capital in the world at an altitude of 3,640 meters, La Paz is a city full of contrasts. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in La Paz. If you are interested, you can take a private optional tour to the pre-Columbian archaeological site of Tiwanaku.
Day 8: Salar of Uyuni
In the morning you can reach Uyuni with a short flight to visit the fascinating Salar of Uyuni – a memorable place that conveys indescribable emotions. During the excursion, you will stop at the Train Cemetery, the Saline di Colchani and the incredible Incahuasi Island. Packed lunch. Attention, temperatures are very cold, especially from May to October. In the afternoon return to Uyuni airport and return to La Paz. Arrival in La Paz and transfer to the hotel.
Day 9: La Paz markets and museums
After breakfast, you will discover the cultural side of La Paz. It starts with a visit to the Coca Museum to learn about its fascinating history; followed by a walk in the Plaza Murillo, the Presidential Palace and the Cathedral. A visit to the Witches Market will follow. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 10: Cusco: the navel of the world!
After breakfast, return flight to Peru. Arrival in Cusco and transfer to the hotel. The visit of the Imperial City of the Incas begins with the visit of the Koricancha, followed by the Inca ruins of Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, Kenko and the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 11: The Inca heritage of the Sacred Valley
After breakfast, we will leave for the cultural centre of Awanacancha, followed by a visit to the Pisac Fortress. It will then be time to visit the Pisac Market. Buffet lunch in Urubamba and visit of the fortress of Ollantaytambo. After this wonderful experience, we will board the famous train to Aguas Calientes. Arrival in Aguas Calientes and hotel accommodation.
Day 12: Sanctuary of Machu Picchu
Today is the coveted day: a visit to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Departure at dawn by shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes. After 25 minutes, you will be at the gates of Machu Picchu. The visit to the Sanctuary lasts about 2 hours; then you will have free time for photos (in accordance with the regulation of the place). Return to Aguas Calientes by shuttle bus and train to Ollantaytambo. Contact our agent and return to Cusco.
